From Darcy Long District Governor 2018-2019
March 30,2021
Dear Rotary Family,
It is with profound sadness I share with you the news of the passing of our beloved District Governor Dave Hamilton. Dave lost his battle with Prostate cancer last night (Mar 29), with Tanya by his side.
There has been such an outpouring of love from all of you, and I have no doubt Dave has felt it and it has helped to comfort him in his final days.
As that same love will help Tanya, and Dave’s family, in the days moving forward as we all grieve with them.
The Rotary Family has lost a true champion, humanitarian, and friend.
Rest in Peace Dave. Thank you for sharing your dance moves with us.
You were an amazing friend and inspirational leader who will truly be missed.
With very heavy hearts,
Darcy and Doug

A Focus on our Members:
Mercedes Wong - Has been with FraserView Rotary since 2010 and is a long time supporter of Rotary, long before that.
She is one of our Past Presidents and is a Paul Harris Fellow plus one, which means level 2 as of this last year.
Mercedes is always quick to support our club and can always been seen at district conferences supporting Rotary and the foundation. But Rotary is a family tradition that goes way back, Below is her father :

A New Paul Harris Milestone for our Club
Joost May have moved to HK but his heart is still very much in the club. Joost had become a Paul Harris recipient in the first year of the club, so recently and with COVID we haven't been able to get his his pin and award.
But in the weeks and months since then, Joost has been supporting the club and its fundraising and events. So much so that he has already now achieved the Paul Harris 2nd level or Plus One.
Thank you to Joost for his commitment and service to Rotary! The plus one status really helps the club, in many ways. We have ordered a Plus one Paul Harris Pin that comes with a small sapphire and then will be shipped to a HK club for presentation to Joost.
Paul Harris Fellow
What is a Paul Harris Fellow?
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation. ... In 1969, the Foundation unveiled the first Paul Harris Fellow medallion at the Rotary Convention in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.
Many other notable figures have been named as Paul Harris Fellows, including U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Russian President Boris Yeltsin, U.S. astronaut James Lovell, UN Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar, and Jonas Salk.
More recently Dr Anthony Falci and our own Dr Bonnie Henry were awarded the Paul Harris medal.
