The Paul Harris Foundation

The Paul Harris Foundation is Rotary's Charity. It was established in 1917 to do good in the world and is supported almost entirely by Rotary member contributions. Rotary Foundation humanitarian grants support projects providing health care and supplies, clean water, food, job training, and education, particularly in the developing world. Rotary members also contribute their time, technical expertise, and compassion to such projects.

Each Rotarian is requested to donate at least $100 annually to the Rotary Foundation, and individuals that donate or have donated $1000 in their name become Paul Harris Fellows.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)

RYLA is an intensive training seminar retreat for community youth chosen for their leadership potential. The seminars occur during spring break or August and are open to 16-25 year olds.

The Rotary Club of Fraserview should discuss involvement and see if we wish to sponsor an  Interact members to the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) at Camp Jubilee during Spring Break. This camp experience emphasizes leadership, citizenship and personal growth.

Rotary Youth Exchange

Rotary Youth Exchange takes outstanding 16-18 year olds on year long exchanges worldwide so they can experience the accomplishments and challenges of other countries and cultures, and act as ambassadors of their home country while abroad, and share their experiences when they return home.

Rotary Overseas Summer Exchange (ROSE)

ROSE is a reciprocal Family to Family short-term youth exchange program. The program is for bright, adaptable, friendly, well spoken young people between the ages of 15 to 19 years and is open to Rotarian families and families recommended by Rotary Clubs.

G roup Study Exchange (GSE)

GSE is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women age 25 and 40 in the early years of their professional life. The program provides travel grants for teams of young participants to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries for a month of travel studying the host country's institutions, vocations, and ways of life.

Rotaract

Rotaract Clubs are for young adults aged 18-30 to meet peers and perform community service, much like younger versions of Rotary Clubs. Rotaract Clubs are sponsored by a Rotary Club. The Rotary Club Of Fraserview should see if there is a local Rotaract that we may like to be involved in.

Interact

Interact is a self-governing service group for youth ages 14-18. Clubs benefit from sponsorship by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance. Interact's name is a combination of the words International and Action. With clubs in over 120 countries and geographical areas, Interact is truly an international phenomenon. Club membership varies greatly. Clubs can be single gender or mixed, large or small. They can draw from the student body of a single school or from two or more schools in the same community.

Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of

  • Developing leadership skills and personal integrity
  • Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
  • Understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work
  • Advancing international understanding and goodwill

As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 10,700 clubs in 109 countries and geographical areas, Interact has become a worldwide phenomenon. Almost 200,000 young people are involved in Interact.
